8th August

The buff-breasted sandpiper is still present amongst the golden plover flock, and at Bridesness the 1st winter CITRINE WAGTAIL was again seen amongst the segs around Brides loch. The summering chiffchaff is still at Holland, and 3 whimbrel were feeding in nearby fields. On Gretchen Loch were a single black-tailed godwit and 3 ruff. In the evening a juvenile TWO-BARRED CROSSBILL came in to roost with linnets, and is presumed to be the second individual from Wednesday.
