4th Septemebr

The PACIFIC GOLDEN PLOVER is still present in Cottie Park, and at Bridesness 2 water rail were flushed form the loch. Wader numbers on Gretchen Loch have been slowly decreasing with just 6 black-tailed godwit and a ruff present today. The rest of the island was equally quiet with singles of lesser whitethroat, goldcrest and willow warbler. 2 swift and a sand martin were seen overhead, 9 white wagtails were at Lindswick and raptors included a merlin, peregrine and kestrel. 7 manx shearwater and 40 sooty shearwater were seen at sea.
