3rd September
A Song Thrush at Waterhouse was the first of the autumn. Gretchen held a Spotted Redshank, two Curlew Sandpiper and a Little Stint. A Wood Sandpiper was at Kirbest, the American Golden Plover was still at Sandar, and the Buff-breasted Sandpiper and Dotterel remained on Tor Ness. Redpoll were at Ancum Willows and the New Kirk, Goldcrest were at Westness and the Obs, a Redstart was at Trinley, and a Whinchat was at Nether Linnay.

4th September
The Buff-breasted Sandpiper and Dotterel moved to the Links. Whinchat were at Bewan, the War Memorial, and Lenswick. Bewan held a Spotted Redshank and the second Pectoral Sandpiper of the year. A Lesser Whitethroat was at Cursitter, a Robin was at Kirbest, a Pied Flycatcher was at the obs with a Goldcrest. An evening nets session produced a Blackcap, Garden Warbler, Barred Warbler and Reed Warbler. A Wood Sandpiper and Little Stint were on Gretchen. Three Swift flew around Nouster in the evening.

5th September
Swift over Loch Park, Whinchat at the War Memorial and Phisligar, Wood Sandpiper and Little Stint on Gretchen, Kestrel at West Beach and Rue, Buff-breasted Sandpiper remained on Tor Ness, Goldcrest at Dennishill and Brigg, Spotted Redshank on Bewan, Buzzard over Ancum, American Golden Plover at Sandar still, and a Peregrine over Gretchen.

6th September
Two Great Shearwater north past the sea watch hide, Common Tern and Spotted Redshank on Bewan, Goldcrest at North Gravity, Barred Warbler at Holland and Westness, Swift at Antabreck, American Golden Plover still at Sandar, Grasshopper Warbler in Gue Park, Buff-breasted Sanpiper still on Tor Ness, two Little Gull at Howar, Pied Flycatcher at Sandback, Old Kirk and Verracott, Buzzard at Nether Linnay, Peregrine over Sandback, Rosefinch in East Loch Park and at Milldam, Redpoll at Upper Linnay and Westness, Wood Sandpiper, Little Stint and Common Tern on Gretchen, and a Marsh Harrier south over Gretchen.

7th September
Kestrel at T5, Gue Park, sea watch hide, Tor Ness, and West Beach, a record island count of 20 Common Sandpiper with the biggest group of nine at the bothy, Pied Flycatcher at Gue Park, North Gravity, and Tor Ness, Green Sandpiper at Viggay, Gue Park, Ancum and T5, three Greenshank over East Loch Park, Whinchat at South Ness and Ancum, Buff-breasted Sandpiper still on Tor Ness, Spotted Flycatcher at Poor Man's Corner and the Shooting Gallery, Woodpigeon at Scottigar, Tree Pipit at the Shooting Gallery, Barred Warbler, Reed Warbler and Redstart in the Kirbest Ditch, two Great Shearwater north past the sea watch hide, Garden Warbler at Tor Ness, and two Curlew Sandpiper and a Little Stint on Gretchen, with the latter trapped and ringed in the evening.

8th September
A bumper day of migrants with final day totals including:
Two Dotterel, Little Stint, seven Curlew Sandpiper, Buff-breasted Sandpiper, Wood Sandpiper, Little Gull, two Wryneck, Tree Pipit, two Grey Wagtail, Black Redstart, three Common Redstart, two Whinchat, seven Sedge Warbler, Reed Warbler, Blyth's Reed Warbler, nine Barred Warbler, three Lesser Whitethroat, two Common Whitethroat, eleven Garden Warbler, two Chiffchaff, 36 Willow Warbler, two Goldcrest, four Spotted Flycatcher, five Pied Flycatcher, three Redpoll, four Rosefinch, Buzzard, and Red-backed Shrike.

9th September
Two Little Gull at Nouster, seven Curlew Sandpiper on Gretchen, five on Ancum, two on Tor Ness and one on the Links,Barred Warbler at T1, Cursitter and North Gravity ditch, Greenish Warbler trapped in T1, Buff-breasted Sandpiper and two Dotterel on Tor Ness, Buzzard in the Shooting Gallery, Reed Warbler in the Shooting Gallery, Yellow Wagtail at Snettan, three Lesser Whitethroat at Cursitter, Garden Warbler at Cursitter, Spotted Flycatcher at Upper Linnay, Blackcap and Redpoll at Westness, Common Sandpiper at Trinley, Red-backed Shrike and Tree Pipit at Viggay, Pied Flycatcher at North Gravity, and Wood Sandpiper on Ancum.
