15th to 17th August

With east winds and rain, it really felt as though there should be more about on 15th and while a Marsh Warbler at Barrenha was nice it was one of only 4 warblers that day! The adult American Golden Plover continued to show well near the lighthouse and an influx of 71 Teal was also notable. Otherwise its been mainly waders dominating with a new arrival of 84 Ruff and 2 Green Sandpipers on 17th and 25 Black-tailed Godwits on 15th. There have also been up to 3 Peregrines present, a Short-eared Owl from 15th to 16th and hopefully the odd Garden and Willow Warbler on the later 2 dates are hinting at a more widespread arrival in the promising conditions ahead...
