27th July

A superb adult summer PACIFIC GOLDEN PLOVER was found mid-day flying off into the fog, re-found shortly afterwards with a flock of 1000+ golden plover near Holland House. With this, most of the afternoon was happily spent following the bird as it toured the South of the island. Other birds noted were 102 sanderling on The Links, a Whimbrel by The Mill and 10 bar-tailed godwit by Milldam. A grey heron flew over East Loch Park and the crossbill was still present at Kirbest, with 7 more appearing at The Observatory late evening.
