25th March
There was little sign of change in the morning although the lingering Glossy Ibis, Tundra Bean and Greenland White-fronted Goose were all seen. Cloud-cover from mid-afternoon seemed to do the trick and a quick blast around the Observatory and a section of the west coast during the last hour and a half of daylight revealed a couple each of Chiffchaffs and Goldcrests plus 4 Robins to have dropped in. Hopefully there will be more tomorrow...
This, the first Chiffchaff of the year can be seen to be wearing a ring. But despite appearing in the Observtory area, this guaranteed ringing 'control' has so far evaded the traps.
