16th and 17th November
A really rough couple of days with a blazing gale force
westerly wind bringing nasty squalls with annoying frequency making any
venturing outside very unpleasant; a Woodcock by the Obs was basically the only
news from the 16th with a few hours spent in the Brides area on the
17th producing 21 Snow Buntings, 3 Meadow Pipits, 4 Rock Pipits, 15
Redwings, 4 Skylarks and 2 Reed Buntings with 15 Tufted Duck and 7 Gadwall on
the loch. 60+ Common Gulls were feeding
in the surf at high tide with a single Black-headed Gull the only other bird of
note in the melee; the Black Redstart was still at the Nouster
Pier.
