11th June

Dry but overcast through the day with a brisk and increasing NW moving into the N wind; bird highlights included a Great-northern Diver, 9 Manx Shearwaters and 406 Puffins past the Lighthouse in an hour first thing, a Heron, a Corncrake which gave a brief snatch of song at Brides (possibly a new bird) and 18 Knot.   Also of note were our first three Painted Ladies of the year.

This White Ermine was the only moth in the trap this morning and I can't find any previous records for the island!
