Nice
conditions for the majority of the day until a heavy band of rain finally
reached us in the early evening to produce a wild, wet and windy night; the
main interest was offshore where 3 Sooty Shearwaters, 16 Manx Shearwaters, 450+
Puffins, at least 18 Arctic Skuas, 11 Bonxies and a pod of 4+ Risso’s Dolphins were off the Lighthouse in
the afternoon. Other birds included a
Greenshank and 4 Ruff while a new Willow Warbler was the token migrant passerine.
A noticeable increase in Arctic Skuas have included a few lovely stripy first year birds
