2nd October
A similar day to yesterday, with the strong south-easterly wind forcing the majority of migrants onto the more sheltered west coast. There wasn't really all that much change in the numbers with the Red-breasted Flycatcher continuing to show well along the west coast and a Long-Eared Owl in the Kirbest Crop the highlights. Among birds seen today were at least 5 Grey Herons, a late Whimbrel, Great Spotted Woodpecker, 12 Robins, 2 Yellow-browed Warblers and 4 each of Goldcrest and Common Redpoll.
