15th-17th June
Despite the continued easterly winds, the past few days have been a generally quieter affair with lower numbers of migrants suggesting the spring may be beginning to draw to a close. However, there have still been some notable sightings, with 15th providing the best selection of birds. A Marsh Warbler trapped at Holland was the second of the year, with a Spotted Flycatcher also trapped and ringed. 3 Jackdaws were seen flying south over North Manse later in the day and the Great Reed Warbler from the previous day remained around the Observatory. 2 Swifts were also seen at Howar.

16th opened with a record count of Wood Pigeons, as a whopping 47 flew over Holland House early in the morning, almost doubling the island's previous highest count! 2 Spotted Flycatchers at Ancum Willows made up the only other sighting of note, with the afternoon spent ringing wader and gull chicks around the island. 17th was similarly quiet, with a Siskin at Holland likely a lingering individual from previous days. As a result, efforts were again focused on monitoring wader nests and chick ringing.
