RED-WINGED BLACKBIRD (again)

The Red-winged Blackbird that has been on the island for over a week now attracted a sizeable weekend crowd today and actually showed amazingly well, completely changing her behaviour by actively flycatching from the wires and walls around her favoured Iris beds at one stage landing within a few metres of the birders on the road.  Several people have cited this as an indication that she is finally thinking about heading off (shades of the Irish Blue-winged Warbler some folks mentioned); this could be the case or maybe it was just a fine day and there was a hatch of flying insects around...
