16th September

The strong northerlies continued, and as did the migrant clear out. Some interesting birds still remain, but we keep our fingers crossed for more easterlies as the autumn progresses.
The only highlights today were the Turtle Dove that remains at the north end of the island in the Bewan Pund, and a Nightjar in Holland gardens. After a couple of days without Pied Flycatchers, it was nice to see one again in the Post Office garden.
Otherwise, the only migrants of note were 1 Hen Harrier, 4 Snow Bunting, 4 Willow Warbler, 2 Whinchat, 1 Lesser Whitethroat and 2 Redstart.
