Both Assistant Wardens were tied up in helping islanders with sheep work today, which resulted in little in the way of birding, only 3 bar-tailed godwit, 6 sanderling and a whimbrel were casually noted. However, a cory's shearwater was reported flying west past the north of the island mid-morning, as were 90 storm petrel and 900 fulmar.
Trapped at last night's petrel ringing session were 31 storm petrels and 1 leach's petrel.
