As is typical of July the majority of interest was provided by waders, most notable of which were 2 adult little stints. Golden plover numbers had increased to 609 and turnstone to 180, and a flock of 22 purple sandpiper were the first returning birds. Elsewhere on the island were 4 whimbrel, 11 dunlin and singles of green sandpiper and knot at Westness.
