29th September
Without doubt the quietest day of September, with regular heavy showers contributing to a poor day's birding. 5 red-throated diver were in Haskie Bay, 4 grey heron were still in Garso Wick and just 17 pink-footed geese were seen flying south. At the North end 2 little stint remain on Bewan and seawatching provided 290 fulmar and 17 sooty shearwater. A yellow-browed warbler was at Hooking, 5 chaffinch and 2 goldcrest in Holland and 2 chiffchaff were noted. Raptors present included 3 merlin and a hen harrier.
