A small arrival of migrants today with totals of 23 willow warbler, 2 blackcap, 3 goldcrest, a garden warbler and a increased count of 343 meadow pipits. The wood warbler at the Observatory was still present and a 2nd bird was at Hooking. A single lapland bunting was seen just North of Holland and the barred warbler trapped on 3rd September was re-trapped at Holland. The PACIFIC GOLDEN PLOVER was by the Observatory in the afternoon, 4 ruff remained on Gretchen Loch and wildfowl on Ancum Loch included 350 wigeon and 10 pintail.
Notable counts from the sea included 1064 fulmar, 26 sooty shearwater and 9 manx shearwater.
